
Mr. Segerstrom joined Acadia as Chief People Officer in July 2026. He leads the company's global people and culture strategy and serves as a member of the executive leadership team.
Mr. Segerstrom brings more than 25 years of human resources leadership across the biopharmaceutical industry. Prior to joining Acadia, he spent 17 years at Merck, most recently as Senior Vice President, Human Resources for Merck's Human Health Division, where he supported a business of more than $50 billion spanning 80 countries. Over the course of his tenure at Merck, he held a range of senior leadership roles, including Chief Talent Officer, with responsibility for global talent strategy, executive succession planning, leadership development, and workforce transformation. Earlier in his career, he held human resources leadership roles at Pharmacia, Schering-Plough, and Pfizer across multiple international markets.
Mr. Segerstrom has extensive experience in organizational transformation and talent strategy at global scale, including large-scale workforce capability shifts, digital and AI-enabled initiatives, and global operating model redesign. He has led talent acquisition organizations responsible for hiring more than 10,000 employees annually and has overseen workforce planning across globally diverse teams.
Mr. Segerstrom earned a Master's degree in Human Resources Management from Uppsala University in Sweden and has completed executive development programs at Harvard Business School and the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
