Employee Resource Groups

At Acadia, our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are employee-created and -led groups that seek to foster an inclusive environment based on shared experiences, goals and values.  Our ERGs provide opportunities for employees to celebrate differences, raise awareness about important issues and collaborate with team members from across the organization. Our ERGs also have centralized resources dedicated to their success.

MOSAIC

Mission

The purpose of MOSAIC is to engage people with aspects of various cultures, and thus provide them frames of reference to better inform them how both internal and external customers arrive at decisions, formulate everyday perspectives, and work towards common goals in light of various cultural contexts. Deeper understanding leads to deeper relationships.

B.O.L.D.

Mission

B.O.L.D is dedicated to the recruitment, retention and development of Black employees. Our group is focused on creating an environment where Black employees can thrive and feel empowered to bring their authentic selves to work. Collectively, we foster an environment where Black employees and their colleagues’ differences are not just tolerated, but respected and leveraged to further Acadia’s values.

Mission

Women@Work serves as a platform to support networks and the development of women at Acadia.

Rainbow Alliance

Mission

Rainbow Alliance works toward creating and maintaining a safe, inclusive and equitable environment for LGBTQ+ employees and their Allies through a sense of community at Acadia.

Activities

    • Monthly forums to create a sense of community 
    • Raising awareness of topics impacting the community in the workplace 
    • Supporting LGBTQ+ initiatives at work and beyond 
    • Establishing objectives that sustain a safe, inclusive, equitable workplace

Creating and Sustaining Diversity

Supporting the success of DEI at all levels at Acadia is not just about removing barriers in the hiring process – it is also about making sure that Acadians all have access to the right tools in order to succeed once here. Our processes, policies and procedures help support diversity, equity and inclusion throughout the talent lifecycle. These include:

  • Talent acquisition strategies to attract diverse talent 
  • Interview training, bias mitigation, and other enhancements to the application and selection process
  • Mandatory instructor-led and on-demand training on DEI topics

Community Commitment

We believe that together we can change the lives of the people and communities we serve. Whether it’s through company-facilitated local community service efforts or donations, ERG-led community involvement, or our efforts to support our patients’ access to care, Acadians are encouraged to give back to their communities. We offer:

  • ERG partnerships with non-profit organizations in our communities
  • Days of service, volunteerism, and awareness activities in our communities
  • Multicultural patient support programs, such as Yours, Truly – our national storytelling initiative to reduce stigma and raise awareness around the non-motor symptoms of Parkinson’s disease in collaboration with StoryCorps

Clinical Trial Diversity

In the pursuit of developing and commercializing therapies that can truly make a difference in the lives of patients, it is crucial to prioritize diversity and inclusion in clinical trials. At Acadia, we prioritize achieving diverse representation in our clinical trials, as it allows for study outcomes to be more broadly applicable and promotes healthcare equity in the general population.
