As Chief Business Officer of Acadia, Dr. Oliver oversees all business development functions and serve as a member of the company’s Executive Management Committee. He has more than 30 years of experience in biopharmaceutical R&D, Corporate Strategy, Business Development, and M&A.
Prior to joining Acadia, Dr. Oliver held various key positions, initially at Merck, where he served for over 20 years in R&D and business development management roles and subsequently as Head of Alcon’s Business Development-Global External Alliances group, leading due diligence, negotiating transactions, and ensuring seamless execution of alliances and acquisitions.
More recently, Dr. Oliver served as SVP, Head of Global Business Development & Licensing and Alliance Management as well as Chief Operations Officer (U.S. and Europe) at Simcere Pharmaceutical Group, where he played a leadership role in the company’s global expansion, and was at the forefront of the execution of many significant licensing and investment deals.
Dr. Oliver obtained his bachelor’s degree in Immunology from King’s College London and holds a Ph.D. in Pathology from the University of Cambridge.
