Putting Commitment into Action for Rett Syndrome Awareness Month

October marks Rett Syndrome Awareness Month, and at Acadia, our commitment to the Rett community goes beyond words—it’s about action. Throughout this month, explore all the ways Acadians are showing up for Rett and how you can get involved!

We work to shine a light on the unique experiences of those impacted by Rett syndrome. Whether through our disease education programs, connecting with the community at advocacy events or sharing powerful Rett syndrome stories, we continue to learn from these meaningful relationships so we can better serve the Rett syndrome community. This month, we are grateful for the opportunity to take part in a number of activities to mark Rett Syndrome Awareness Month.

Acadia Goes on the Road for Advocacy Events

Acadians are packing their bags and hitting the road across the country to help raise awareness for Rett syndrome by participating in local events all month long:

To keep track of where our Acadia team is showing up next, or when we’ll be at a Rett event near you, keep an eye out on our Acadia Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn for the latest updates. We hope to see you on the road!

Magnolia’s Guide to Adventuring: Showcasing the Unique Abilities of those Living with Rett

Earlier this year, it was “lights, camera, action!” for Magnolia’s Guide to Adventuring docuseries created by AJ and Jenny Tesler, and featuring their daughter Magnolia (“Maggie”). The series follows the Teslers as they are joined by other Rett families to experience adaptive sports, such as downhill skiing, ice skating, horseback riding, and water skiing. The uplifting docuseries focuses on what those living with Rett syndrome CAN DO, and not what they can’t, challenging the assumptions about people living with this rare, complex neurodevelopmental disorder. Join us for the 10th and final episode of the season where the Tesler and Alvarado families grab their paddles to take on this exciting adventure!
