Please note that this position is based in San Diego, CA. Acadia's hybrid model requires this role to work in our office three days per week on average.

This position will assist with the monthly revenue close process and preparation for the company’s SEC reporting, as well as assist and maintain the Sarbanes-Oxley compliance efforts.  

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in monthly revenue recognition for product sales and determine sales allowances and accruals, and revenue related account reconciliations.
  • Assist in quarterly and annual external financial reporting, including Forms 10-Qs ,10-Ks and 8-Ks.
  • Assist and coordinate with SOX consultants during SOX reviewing and testing and maintain the Company’s internal control documentation.
  • Assist in the development/updating of departmental internal control operating processes, procedures and standards, as needed.
  • Assists with special, ad-hoc projects as requested.
  • Stay technically current with GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
  • Work with the FP&A group for proper accounting treatment and integration of business development transactions.
  • Assists with ad-hoc and special projects as requested.

Education/Experience/Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or other business related field preferred.  Targeting three to five years of revenue recognition, audit, and SEC reporting experience of which one year is audit experience within a top-tier accounting firm.  An equivalent combination of relevant education and applicable job experience may be considered.

Key Candidate Qualities:

  • Solid understanding of SEC reporting and U.S. GAAP accounting
  • In-depth knowledge of the Sarbanes-Oxley act of 2002 requirements
  • Experience working in biotechnology or pharmaceutical company preferred
  • Experience with SEC reporting tools/platforms such as Active Disclosure preferred
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong and positive work ethic for a growing team environment.
  • Agile skillset to demonstrate critical thinking and problem resolution
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive work ethic

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, see, talk or hear in a standard office environment. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.

In addition to a competitive base salary, this position is also eligible for discretionary bonus and equity awards based on factors such as individual and organizational performance. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance, and location. 

Salary Range
$84,000$105,100 USD
