Associate Director SAS Programming

Responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership to the SAS Programming group. Works with biostatisticians and clinical data managers in checking, analyzing and reporting data from individual clinical trials and data integrated across clinical trials. In addition, takes a role in devising generalized programming solutions and in providing training.
- Shares expertise regarding CDISC/industry standards
- Advises SAS Programmers on producing submission datasets and related documents
- Creates or QCs programs for generating datasets, tables, listings and figures
- Constructs integrated datasets across multiple clinical trials
- Performs vendor qualifications in regards to statistical programming functions and manage CROs regarding programming issues and activities to ensure on time deliverables.
- Ensures that SAS programming work is consistent with GCP, ICH, 21 CFR part 11, internal SOPs and training, and international regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in statistics or related field. Master’s degree preferred. SAS Certification at the Advanced Programmer level. Equivalent relevant education and job experience may be considered. Experience with CDISC standards required.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in statistical programming with clinical data. Must have functioned as the lead programmer for more than one clinical program.
- Detailed knowledge of clinical trial data, the drug development process, and regulatory filings
- Experience in SAS programming including base SAS, SAS/Stat, graphics, macros, and ODS
- Experience in following CDISC standards and reporting on conformance with them
- Attention to detail
- Experience includes managing SAS programmers on projects that have agreed-upon deliverables on time, and prior guidance of lower level or less experienced staff.
- Good communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
- Proven ability to enhance group effectiveness through better tools or processes.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, see, talk or hear in a standard office environment. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.

The salary range for this role is $140,000.00 to $175,200.00. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance, and location. In addition to a competitive base salary, this position is also eligible for discretionary bonus and equity awards based on factors such as individual and organizational performance.
