The Associate Director, IT Data Services serves as a leader in data warehousing, business intelligence, and data integration services. This role coordinates, manages and/or participates in activities related to the selection, design, configuration, and implementation of Acadia’s enterprise information systems and related data integrations. This role will lead in the analysis and resolution of issues related to information flow and content with our business customers, IT management, and staff. This role will develop expertise with Acadia’s integration tools, database platforms, and reporting environments. This role will participate in project related work and also support day-to-day operational activities, when applicable. This role will identify improvements and develop plans or proposals to enhance Acadia’s environment and participate in cross-functional IT and company projects of a strategic nature.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with business to help define and document business processes and requirements including, but not limited to, data flow, data storage, application usability, infrastructure, reporting and analytics
  • Conduct source system and data quality analysis, as applicable
  • Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data into enterprise systems and reporting tools
  • Ensure use of consistent, quality-oriented project management methodology for technical solutions according to Acadia’s software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Create ad hoc reporting solutions, as needed
  • Qualify vendors and aid in selecting systems
  • Conduct data investigations across multiple integrated systems
  • Participate in business process re-engineering activities
  • Develop and maintain appropriate SDLC environments (DEV, TEST, PROD, etc.)
  • Lead technical efforts related to the systems in use at Acadia
  • Analyze, assess, and identify areas for improvement or vulnerability
  • Educate users or peers concerning the data and systems in use at Acadia

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems. An equivalent combination of relevant education and applicable job experience may be considered
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience as a IT programmer/analyst/lead or similar technical role(s); including robust data warehousing and ETL experience
  • Proficiency using SQL to query data residing in a databases
  • Ability to act as “technical translator” between IT and business groups
  • Ability to explain complex data to all levels of data consumers
  • Knowledge of typical text-based file formats and tools to manipulate these ad-hoc data files
  • Ability to handle a variety of task at one time
  • Adaptability to quickly and proactively implement change initiatives
  • Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail
  • Enjoy working in a team environment and have good communication and documentation skills
  • Enjoy working directly with end users

The following requirements are preferred:

  • Experience with Master Data Management tools (e.g., Reltio)
  • Experience with cloud-based databases and applications, Azure preferred
  • Knowledge of dimensional database modeling
  • Experience with reporting tools such as Power BI, Qlik, Tableau, etc.
  • Experience working in a FDA regulated environment, following GxP processes (if applicable)
  • Pharmaceutical experience, particularly including the launch of a new pharmaceutical product

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, see, talk or hear in a standard office environment. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
