Benir Ruano is our Senior Vice President, Technical Development and Operations, and joined Acadia in November 2022.
Mr. Ruano brings more than three decades of experience in product development, operations, quality systems, and clinical and commercial global manufacturing. He joined Acadia from Tarsus Pharmaceuticals Inc., where he served as Vice President, Manufacturing Operations and Supply Chain, responsible for manufacturing and supply chain strategy for clinical and commercial supply of drug substances (API), drug products, finished products, clinical trial materials and investigational medicinal products.
Prior to that, Mr. Ruano served as Vice President, Global Manufacturing and Technical Operations at Xeris Pharmaceuticals Inc., where he achieved FDA, EMA/EC, and other approvals for multiple drug-device platform products. Concurrently, he was Principal, Founder of BDR Life Sciences, serving as a consultant and advisor to regulated life sciences, biotech, pharmaceutical and medical device companies. Previously, he worked in operations, quality systems, and supply chain roles at small and large pharmaceutical and biotech companies.
Mr. Ruano earned a B.S. of Biological Sciences from University of California San Diego and an M.B.A. from National University.
